New Opportunities Funding
Past Perfect is a New Opportunities Fund grant-aided project run jointly by Durham and Northumberland County Councils. It uses the latest in virtual reality interactive technology to bring the archaeology and history of the two counties alive.

Browse around seven very different archaeological sites via the tabs below, experiencing how people lived in these places. Search the archive sections to find historical documents, archaeologists' records, photographs, objects and other archives, and learn how these elements helped create our vision of life in the past.

If you have not used virtual reality before or are uncertain about whether your PC can support these formats, please access our help pages via the tab above. Reconstructions are also available as still-images and movie clips so that everybody can enjoy the Virtual Archaeology of Durham and Northumberland. Contact Us
